Born and raised in St. Louis, Meryl brings unique, hand-painted needlepoint designs to stitchers of every kind. Now based in Washington, DC, she continues to craft canvases that reflect the places, passions, and personal connections that inspire her.

Needlepoint has always been more than a trendy craft for Meryl- it’s a connection. Meryl learned to stitch from two different generations of women in her family. Needlepoint is never just about the canvas being stitched but about the time spent together, the stories shared, and the joy of making keepsakes and treasures that could be passed down for generations. That is the heart of Detmer Designs we hope to share with you.

Meryl’s signature fleur-de-lis logo is more than just a design, it’s a homage to her St. Louis roots, woven into every stitch of her work.
